The Lexington Group is an innovative consulting firm that specializes in environmental management and sustainability in the United States and Latin America. Our focus is helping private and public sector clients improve their environmental performance, operational effectiveness, and competitiveness. We work closely with our clients to build environmental and sustainability strategies, design and implement management systems, and find durable solutions to pressing environmental problems.

Environmental Management Systems

We focus on management systems as a means of translating top-level commitment to environmental improvement into operational decisions that increase performance, profits, and long-term sustainability. We have helped many clients reach ISO 14001 certification, but our larger focus is building environmental management systems (EMSs) that achieve world class levels of performance. For example, we've worked with large corporations to develop integrated, multi-site EMSs and assisted public agencies in undertaking the internal change necessary to build an effective EMS.

A Strategic Approach

Management systems enable the integration of environmental concerns into an organization's day-to-day operations, but how can you best prepare for emerging environmental issues? We help private and public sector clients identify priority environmental issues and develop a strategic approach to managing them. For example, we've worked with a chemical manufacturer to evaluate its product strategy in light of environmental considerations and developed an environmental strategy for an investment fund of a multilateral organization.
